The Shelby Golden Lions are once again state championship bound. On Saturday, Shelby will travel to Raleigh’s Carter-Finley Stadium for a matchup with Wallace-Rose Hill in the state 2A championship. The contest is set for 3 p.m.

And not far behind the bus carrying the title contenders will be a cadre of fans. Many of them riding on charter busses.

"I do this every year," said Linda Perry, who is organizing charter bus rides to N.C. State this weekend.

Perry has commissioned two charter busses to carry fans to and from Saturday's game. One of those busses is already full, the other still has some seats left.

"Some people don't have any other way there. For some people, that is just a long drive. And the game starts at 3 p.m. so they don't want to drive up there and then drive back late at night," said Perry.

Tickets on the remaining bus are $25. That cost does not include the cost of admission to the game. Anyone planning to attend the game will need to buy their tickets online at gofan.co. Tickets are $15. No tickets will be sold at the gate.

Busses will leave Shelby at 8 a.m. and return Saturday evening.

To reserve a seat on the bus, contact Perry at 704-253-3026.
