Sheldon High School football game canceled due to fight, officials say

Friday night’s Sheldon High School football game against Franklin High School was canceled after a fight, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. Officials said several students were involved in the fight, and those students were placed in a room with school officials until parents or guardians are contacted. The Elk Grove Unified School District told KCRA 3 that at one point, someone shouted that there was a gun, but that was found to not be true. The sheriff's office added that no firearms were found and no shots were fired at the game. "We just want to make sure everyone is safe at our games," the school district said. No other details were released.
