Shelter order issued as Boulder police respond to report of armed person barricaded overnight

Mar. 28—A shelter in place order remains in place for part of north Boulder as police continue to respond to a person reportedly barricaded inside a home.

Boulder police tweeted at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday that an armed man had barricaded himself inside a home at 17th Street and Yarmouth Avenue.

A shelter in place was issued for the area bordered by Yarmouth Avenue to the south, 17th Street to the east, Yaupon Avenue to the north and 15th Street to the west.

Boulder police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh said police originally responded to the address after they received a report that a man had broken into the home.
