Shemar Moore has tested positive for COVID-19.
The “S.W.A.T.” star took to social media to confirm his diagnosis on Wednesday.
“I HAVE COVID!!!! Just found out moments ago…. I am gonna stay wrapping presents… Yes… I have been tested and told that I HAVE COVID!!!” Moore wrote on Instagram.
The 50-year-old former model and soap opera hearththrob said that at first he thought he had food poisoning because he experienced “chills and aches.” He added that he didn’t lose his sense of smell and taste and has “no cough, no runny nose.”
“I have to accept test results… I feel fine now… but I have to be responsible!!!!” Moore continued. “My Xmas n New Years is clearly not gonna be the best… my last year and a half has not been the best… but I WILL BE OKAY!!!!”
It’s been a tough year for the Oakland, Calif., native who revealed the loss of his mom, Marylin Joan Wilson-Moore, in February.
Moore, who also starred in “Criminal Minds” and “The Young and the Restless,” concluded, “This is a hard time for ALL OF US… the WORLD!!! But… I BELIEVE in the sun shining through the rain!!! Stay safe and appreciate everything and everybody you have and had!! MUCH LOVE!!!!”
He ended with the hashtag #wearamask.
On Wednesday, the US reported 228,131 new cases of the coronavirus and 3,359 new deaths, marking the third-most deaths in a single day.
