Sheriff: 2 alleged sexual predators apprehended in undercover operation

ADRIAN — Authorities reported two men were taken into custody Tuesday in an undercover operation between the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office and the Genesee Human Oppression Strike Team from the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives conducting the undercover operation on social media apprehended a 52-year-old man from Ottawa Lake and a 42-year-old man from Mason, Lenawee County Sheriff Troy Bevier reported in a news release. Their names were not immediately released.

Both men drove to Lenawee County to meet and have sex with a girl who they believed to be an underage, Bevier reported. Both men were arrested and lodged at the Lenawee County Jail.

The Lenawee County Sheriff's Office will be seeking charges of solicitation of a minor for immoral purposes, child sexually abusive activity and using a computer to commit a crime as well as a violation of sex offender registration against the man from Mason and felony firearm charges against the Ottawa Lake man, the release said.
