Sheriff’s Dept. investigating after two bodies found in Greene County

GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Police are investigating after two bodies were found in Greene County.

According to a release from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a home in the 500 block of Choctaw Drive in Chuckey on Thursday where they found a deceased female.

On Friday morning, Greene County deputies and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) searched a wooded area behind the home and reportedly found a deceased male.

Both bodies have been sent to a medical examiner for autopsy.

The sheriff’s department stated there is no danger to the public and more information will be released when it becomes available.

Auxiliary Deputy Wayne Wilhoit, Humans Remains Detection K9 Ruger, Greeneville/Greene County EMS and the Greene County Rescue Squad assisted in the investigation.
