Sheriff’s deputy shoots man in Palmdale

A deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department shot a man in Palmdale Friday morning, sending him to the hospital, according to authorities.

The shooting took place at 6:48 a.m. on the 13000 block of Pearblossom Highway, the department announced in a news release.

The man was only identified as a “male adult suspect,” and his condition was not released.

No other details, including the circumstances of the shooting and what the man was suspected of doing, were immediately made available.

Per protocol for deputy-involved shootings, homicide detectives began investigating the situation Friday morning, as did the Internal Affairs Bureau.
