Deputies reported the Amish buggy, driven by 47-year-old Sammy S. Hershberger of Poland, was hit by a black Ford sedan just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The car then left the scene.

While Hershberger did not suffer any injuries, the horse pulling the buggy had injuries to its leg and neck and was brought to its owner's residence for evaluation, deputies said.
