Two adults who were found dead inside a vehicle on the side of the road in Goodyear on Friday morning were identified by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office identified the occupants on Wednesday as 54-year-old Jorge Guadalupe Rodriguez-Leyva and 48-year-old Violeta Amado-Correa.

Around 9 a.m. on Friday, MCSO deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Maricopa County 85 and Cotton Lane in Goodyear for a call regarding a suspicious vehicle on the side of the road, MCSO said.

The caller who reported the vehicle told police that there was a white Ford Expedition parked on the shoulder of the road with what appeared to be bullet holes in it. The caller also told police that there were two people inside who were not responsive.

MCSO deputies arrived and found Rodriguez-Leyva and Amado-Correa in the car, pronouncing both dead on the scene. Their cause of death was not disclosed by the Sheriff's Office.

There were no outstanding suspects as of Wednesday afternoon, but an investigation was ongoing, the Sheriff's Office said.
