Sheriff's Office delivers early holiday cheer

It has become a tradition in Wichita County. Each Christmas season the Wichita County Sheriff's Office delivers gifts to hundred of underprivileged children as part of its Angel Tree program.

The office carried on the tradition Wednesday.

The program began in the Sheriff's Office in 2004 and later expanded to include giving from the entire courthouse. Each year local nonprofits put together wish lists for children who might otherwise not have much of a Christmas. The wish list is available to courthouse workers who purchase and wrap the gifts for deputies to deliver.
