Sheriff's office says four killed in two-car wreck in Spencer County, Indiana

Four people were killed Saturday evening in a two-vehicle wreck in Spencer County, Indiana.

According to the Spencer County Sheriff's Office, the wreck happened at the intersection of U.S. 231 and County Road 1000 North in Chrisney.

A news release from the agency stated that a Jeep Cherokee driven by 27-year-old Michael Seger of Holland, Indiana, failed to stop at a stop sign on County Road 1000 North before entering U.S. 231. The Jeep Cherokee was struck broadside by a Toyota Tundra driven by 56-year-old Christopher Allen of Fort Branch, Indiana.

Seger and three of his passengers were pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The passengers were: Fernanda Cruz Valencia, 23, of Holland; Bernard Goeppner, 65, of Holland; and Donna Cassidy, 60, of Holland.

Allen was treated at the scene for pain complaints, but was not taken to a hospital, according to the news release.

The sheriff's office says the investigation into the wreck is still ongoing.
