Sheriff's office says missing Churchville man located safely

UPDATE — Mr. Painter has been safely located, according to the sheriff's office.

WAYNESBORO — The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance with locating a missing person who was last seen in the Waynesboro area on Nov. 20 but wasn't reported missing until Tuesday, a press release said.

James William Painter, 46, of Churchville, was last seen at the Sheetz store in Waynesboro, the sheriff's office said.

Painter is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
