Ellyn Santiago

GUILFORD, CT —When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from a person who wished to remain anonymous and nominated Nancy Babbitt, a nurse.

Name of the nominee:
Nancy Babbitt

Is the nominee considered an “essential worker”?:

What does the nominee do for work?:

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
She has not stopped working even tho she is at higher risk from COVID-19. On top of taking care of her patients she is also making masks nonstop and giving them away to anyone that needs one. When she isn't working or making masks she is painting rocks and placing them around her neighborhood to bring positivity and happiness to all.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
She always puts everyone's needs before her own. Not only is she a hard worker she is also a wonderful wife and mother
