Shia LaBeouf Lists Midcentury Sherman Oaks Home

Now that Shia LaBeouf is officially settled into his newly built, Mediterranean-style house in Pasadena, California, he’s ready to let go of his longtime midcentury place in L.A.’s Sherman Oaks neighborhood. The actor and performance artist recently listed the 2,463-square-foot dwelling for $2.25 million, a substantial bump above the $1.825 million he paid for it in 2009, according to Realtor.com.

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom property is situated on a half-acre, landscaped lot with unobstructed city and mountain views. Originally built in 1958, the house features an aesthetically pleasing combination of glass walls, whitewashed exposed-beam ceilings, dark tile, and wood floors. The main living space is entirely open plan, with a sunken living room featuring a fireplace and direct access to the back patio. The chef’s kitchen, which has been substantially upgraded since the ’50s, boasts stainless-steel appliances, a center island that doubles as a breakfast bar, a wine fridge, and an adjacent sunny dining area. A home office with built-in desk and shelves is tucked away in a private corner of the residence.

For anyone seeking more work-from-home space, there is also a paneled library (formerly one of the three bedrooms) featuring nearly floor-to-ceiling built-in bookshelves and ample natural light thanks to several large picture windows. The master suite is spacious, with its own fireplace, a walk-in wardrobe, a spa-style bathroom, and a wall of glass doors that push aside for easy access to the backyard. Out back, a number of mature trees provide ample shade for the large back patio and pool, while a row of hedges offers up privacy.

LaBeouf purchased his new Pasadena property in March for $5.475 million. It measures a generous 4,000 square feet, with four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms spread out across three stories, and an elevator connecting them all.
