Shillington teen earns rank of Eagle Scout

Oct. 14—Brendan M. Weber, 18, son of Pamela J. and James N. Weber of Shillington, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

For his Eagle Scout project, Weber designed and oversaw the construction of a bird blind at Berks Nature in Reading.

He is a member of Troop 236, sponsored by Grace Lutheran Church, Shillington, where he has been patrol leader, assistant patrol leader and first aid instructor.

Weber has earned 29 merit badges.

He is an Brotherhood member of Kittatinny Lodge No. 5, Order of the Arrow.

He is a senior at Gov. Mifflin High School, where is is a member of the concert band, marching band, orchestra, pit orchestra, woodwind ensemble, Statesmen jazz band, Govs band, concert choir and Ambassadors. He also is a member of the Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra, the pit orchestra at Genesius Theatre, Berks County Senior Band and PMEA District 10 band.

He plans to attend Marywood University to major in music therapy.
