SHINEfest coming to Kent on Saturday touting good vibes

SHINEfest at Kent's Fred Fuller Park will be the place to go Saturday for good vibes.

Starting at 9:30 a.m. and continuing all day, SHINEfest will feature over 50 vendors and six food trucks from counties throughout Northeast Ohio.

Henna, tarot, palm readers, healing practitioners, live music and more will be available. Some of the festival's offerings, however, are only available to VIP ticket holders. A full list of programming can be found online.

VIP events include presentations on mindful eating and positive psychology, and a sound bath experience.

Tickets range from $19 for general admission to $59 for VIP access. Tickets won't be on sale on the day of the event, so they must be purchased beforehand online. Ages 17 and younger can attend for free.

The festival is both kid- and pet-friendly. Animal reiki will be offered, donations from which will benefit the Portage Animal Protective League, which will hold pet adoptions at the festival all day.

Two of the event's sponsors, Insomnia Cookies and Shine Water, will hand out free cookies and water to attendees while supplies last at the park, located at 601 Middlebury Road in Kent.

SHINEfest is a production of SHINE Akron, described in a release as an education and retreat center that hosts over 150 events each year "to educate and empower people to reach their highest vibration and fullpotential."
