When ABC’s “The Golden Bachelor” premiered in September, many viewers tuned in to start watching 71-year-old Gerry Turner from Indiana look for love in his golden years — one rose at a time.

Aventura has its own eligible elder bachelor in Frank “Professor” Kromsky, 92, who is himself now on the market and looking for companionship.

Kromsky has a bit of a head start.

He lives in the senior living community, Vi at Aventura, where 11 percent of residents are single men and 53 percent are single women.

“Companionship is a vital aspect of a senior’s well-being,” said Maia Mediavilla, Vi at Aventura’s Director of Lifestyles.

“We’ve seen firsthand how connections made here enhance quality of life, provide safety and support and reduce loneliness. It’s a good reminder that no one should ever give up on finding love.”

Kromsky teaches weekly Yiddish and Craps classes to fellow residents, and has quickly emerged as Vi’s most eligible bachelor “thanks to his magnetic personality and relentless enthusiasm for life.”

Seniors know a thing or two about relationships, Mediavilla said.

Kromsky had a loving marriage of 64 years, but was widowed two years ago. His love story with his late wife included raising a family and traveling the world.

Now, the nonagenarian said, he is looking for “a nice smile, a Rummikub partner, and someone to enjoy his meals with.”

Interested bachelorettes can call the Community Relations Manager at 305-912-0613 who will forward calls to Kromsky.

New UM Bobbleheads released

University of Miami fans who love bobbleheads can now add to their collection with four new officially licensed, special edition Miami Hurricanes Bobbleheads unveiled by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.

The Fight Song Bobbleheads are individually numbered to only 2,023 and the Logo Bobbleheads are individually numbered to 1,923 to coincide with the year of the university’s founding.

“We’re excited to be releasing these special edition Miami Hurricanes Bobbleheads,” said Phil Sklar, National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO. “We know how passionate Hurricanes fans are about their school, so we expect these bobbleheads to be extremely popular.”

Grand Champions to be honored

Give Back for Special Equestrians will celebrate 10 years of volunteerism and honor 10n “Grand Champions” who have done much to provide therapeutic horseback riding programs for hundreds of disabled children and veterans.

The elegant Equestrian Chic Gala will be Nov. 7 at Biscayne Bay Yacht Club.

“We are firm in our belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the healing power of horses, regardless of their abilities or financial circumstances,” said Dr. Heather Kuhl, co-founder and president of Give Back for Special Equestrians.

“To a child or adult with a physical development or emotional disability, life looks a lot brighter on horseback. The power and warmth of a horse strengthens and tones muscles, improves balance, head control and coordination, builds patience and self-esteem and offers a sense of freedom and equality.”

Give Back for Special Equestrians joined forces with Whispering Manes in 2021 to exclusively serve Miami’s primary riding facility for special needs riders.

Individual gala tickets are $1,000. Tables of four are $5,000, and tables of eight are $10,000. Call Sissy DeMaria-Koehne at 305-608-5350 for tickets or for more information.
