Shipping items with FedEx will now cost you more in 2023

Customers will now be paying more out of pocket when it comes to shipping items.

New, higher rates for FedEx ground and express shipping started Monday.

Price increases average about 6.9% and up to 7.9% for freight.

The company announced the hike in September when it announced it would trim its budget and operations by about $500 million.

There will also be an 8% increase in the late payment fee for U.S. FedEx Express and FedEx ground.

This comes after a slowing global economy and lower demand.
