Shockers squander 15-point lead in road loss to Tulsa

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita State University Shockers dropped a road game to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane after blowing a 15-point lead on Wednesday, 79-68.

WSU held the lead for the majority of the game and took an 11-point lead into the locker room, but Tulsa’s PJ Haggerty (23 points) and Cobe Williams (21) willed the Golden Hurricane to take the lead late, and they would not give it up.

Colby Rogers led the scoring for the Shockers with 13. Harlond Beverly (12), Dalen Ridgnal (11), Xavier Bell (10) and Kenny Pohto (10) all joined him in double-digit scoring.

There was a big free throw discrepancy, with the Golden Hurricane shooting 20 of 24 to just two of three for the Shockers.

Up next, the Shockers will hit the road and take on Memphis on Saturday, Feb. 3. That game will tip off at noon.
