Shoigu’s visit likely attempted to push Belarus to invade Ukraine, intelligence says
According to him, the Kremlin is not giving up on its attempts to drag Belarus into the war against Ukraine, although these efforts have been fruitless, so far.
Yusov reiterated there are no signs that would suggest a Belarusian invasion of Ukraine in near future.
On dec. 3, Shoigu arrived in Minsk to hold talks with Belarusian dictator Lukashenko and Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin.

According to the U.S-based Institute for the Study of War, the visit may be an attempt to place pressure on Belarus to actively participate in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
