Shook: My game plan for chowing down at the Fayetteville Woodpeckers game this weekend

Hi foodies,

Memorial Day Weekend is nearly here, and I plan to spend part of it at Segra Stadium for Fayetteville Woodpeckers’ face-off against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (fingers crossed the weather holds out).

As I cheer on our hometown team, here are the eats I plan to chow down on:

Boneless wings and chicken tenders in a baseball bowl at Segra Stadium in Fayetteville.

Boneless wings and fries, served in a baseball bowl: When a friend of mine ate these at the last game I went to, I made a mental note to order them for myself next time. I mean, look how stunning!

Soft pretzel: I’ve been craving one of these for weeks. I think they typically are served with cheese at Segra, but I’d prefer ball park mustard.

Hot dog: Self-explanatory. I don’t go to a baseball game without scarfing down at least one.

Beer: Duh. As fun as the baseball bat beer is, I’m grabbing a can. I need it to fit in a cup holder while I eat.

Soft-serve waffle cone: Something sweet to top it all off. Frozen lemonade also sounds great, so it may be a game-time decision.

What are some of your favorite baseball bites? Let me know by emailing tshook@gannett.com.

Happy eating,

Taylor
