Shooter sought in Fort Smith, one person hospitalized
Fort Smith police investigators searched for a shooter Friday morning after a victim was hospitalized.
Officers responded to the 3400 block of Duke Avenue, near Interstate 540 and U.S. 271, about 8:50 a.m. where a victim was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.
The condition of the victim was not known Friday morning, police said.
The shooting appeared to be an isolated incident, and there was no immediate threat to the public, according to police.
No arrest had been reported Friday morning.
A police spokesman said the investigation is continuing and that more information would be released when available.
