Shooting death of 44-year-old New Haven woman under investigation, police say

A 44-year-old woman was found dead in a New Haven apartment Saturday night with a gunshot wound to the head, according to police.

Emergency services received a 911 call at about 11:40 p.m. for a person shot inside a unit at 1423 Quinnipiac Avenue, the Harbour Crest condominium complex, according to Capt. Anthony Duff.

They responded to find the New Haven woman and pronounced her dead at the scene, Duff said.

The investigation is ongoing.
