Shooting at Peddler's Village parking lot leaves man with multiple gunshot wounds

May 5—GOSHEN — A 21-year-old man suffered several gunshot wounds during a shooting in the parking lot at 2618 Peddler's Village Road in Goshen at 3:02 a.m. Sunday.

According to a report from Goshen police, Elkhart County 911 received calls about gunfire in the Peddler's Village Road parking lot. While officers were en route, they learned the victim had been taken to a local hospital with several gunshot wounds.

At the Peddler's Village Event Center, officers said they found evidence of gunfire, including damage to the building. No one at the scene claimed to witness the events, officers reported. Investigators also noted that they attempted to gather information from the victim and the people who transported him to the hospital, but they all refused to cooperate.

The victim was transported to a different hospital due to non-life-threatening injuries that required surgery.

The shooting remains under investigation, and as of Sunday afternoon no updates were available.
