SHOOTING: Police presence at Murray’s Fashion Place Mall

UPDATE, 1:35 p.m.: Police have released new details regarding the shooting at Fashion Place Mall Saturday morning.

Chief Craig Burnett, Murray Police, said that at around 11 a.m., a group of individuals got into an altercation in front of the Container Store at the mall.

Shots were fired, Burnett said, and one person suffered a “minor gunshot wound.” That person is being treated for his injuries at this time.

Other shots reportedly hit vehicles at the scene, as well as the storefront.

An exact number of individuals involved has not been released.

Burnett described the group as young men. There is reportedly no further threat to the public at this time.

Fashion Place Mall is currently open, while part of the parking lot and the Container Store is closed.
