More than 30 officers from the Eugene Police Department and the Lane County Sheriff's Office, along with 30 volunteers, did their best to keep up with 23 children Saturday during the annual Shop with a Cop event for the holidays.

The event partners local police with Northwest Community Credit Union and Fred Meyer to provide an opportunity for local children to shop for themselves and their families before Christmas, according to Lt. Chuck Salsbury.

The Eugene Police Foundation raises money from officers and members of the community leading up to the event each year. Children are selected to participate through local schools.
