On July 20, the Rapides Parish Library's annual Back-to-School Supply Giveaway will be held beginning at 9 a.m. at the Main Library branch in downtown Alexandria.

Only the first 100 children registered will be eligible. Call 504-496-1910 for information.

The event is for children ages 6 to 12. There will be crafts and other events, too.

Then, on Aug. 6, the city of Alexandria will hold its annual Back-to-School Bash from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Randolph Riverfront Center on Second Street in downtown Alexandria.

School supplies and more will be handed out during this event.
