Shop local in Charlevoix this holiday season
CHARLEVOIX — While out shopping for the holidays, you could win some extra money as a reward for keeping your hard-earned dollars in the local economy by choosing to shop small in downtown Charlevoix with a contest hosted by Charlevoix's Downtown Development Authority.
Now through Dec. 24, for every $50 spent on qualifying purchases, people can earn an entry into a drawing for three prizes — $500, $300, or $100 in downtown dollar gift cards.
To enter, spend $50 in qualifying purchases between Nov. 25 and Dec. 24 at your favorite downtown businesses (receipts may be combined). Then, turn in receipts through Dec. 24 to one of five contest entry locations: Elements Gallery, Ga Ga for Kids, J. Bird Provisions, The Clothing Company, and The Lake House.
Online purchases at participating downtown Charlevoix businesses also count toward an entry. If you feel safer shopping this way, or are shopping small from a distance, you can submit your email receipts by forwarding them to charlevoixmainstreet@gmail.com. New this year: you can purchase the all-new digital downtown dollars gift cards as gifts to earn entries as well.

Food purchased at restaurants and grocery stores do not qualify, but gift cards to these businesses do. A total of 4,000 entries are available, and the winners will be announced and contacted via phone/email on Jan. 9, 2023.
Qualified purchases include $50 spent in-store or online at downtown retailers on product or gift cards; $50 spent in-store or online at downtown restaurants on gift cards only; $50 spent on gift cards or product at personal service businesses; $50 spent on gift cards from grocery stores; and $50 spent on downtown dollars digital gift cards.
