The homegrown businesses in Downtown Carlsbad are the perfect places to find all your Christmas gift needs. Not only are there great retail, restaurants, and salons, but there are a few gems that I would like to share with you. If art is your passion, Carlsbad has amazing shops and offerings for every art enthusiast.

The Artist Gallery was a passion and dream of the Carlsbad Area Art Association and promotes local Carlsbad artists. This Co-Op gallery is entirely owned and operated by the members, encourages artistic expression and a thriving artisan community. The Artist Gallery vision started with 5 artists and the Co-Op gallery is now home to 27 artists. The one-of-a-kind pieces of these artists are available for purchase all year round, but once a year the Artist Gallery hosts the Red-Hot Red Dot Sale, when all works are sold for 20% of the original price. A red dot means that item is 40% off the original price. The Artist Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Watch the Artist Gallery Facebook page for more information.
