With the holiday season in full swing, those families who choose to decorate their homes with a live tree in December have many farms to choose from in the Hudson Valley.
Whether you prefer to chop down your own tree or select from a variety of pre-cut trees, there's an option available at local farms.
Here are 16 Christmas tree farms in the Hudson Valley to check out this year. Keep in mind that trees are selling out quickly this year. It's a good idea to give farms a call before you head out.

Abel's Trees

Abel's Trees will be open this holiday season starting Black Friday, and they will be open every weekend from Thanksgiving to Christmas from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. After Nov. 27, weekday appointments can be made.

Airfield Farms Inc.

On Black Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Airfield Farms Inc. will open for the winter season. Their operating hours are Wednesday through Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on the weekends from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pre-cut trees from 6 to 14 feet are available, but check back in two years for cut-your-own trees. Stop by to grab a wreath as well.

Balsam Ridge Christmas Tree Farm

Balsam Ridge Christmas Tree Farm will be open starting Black Friday and on the weekends after until they sell out. Open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., they will also be available by appointment on weekdays. There will be fresh-cut trees along with trees available to choose and cut.
Complimentary hot chocolate will be available, and do not forget to check out their small gift shop with handcrafted items including centerpieces and wreaths.
Evergreen Christmas Tree Farm

This year, Evergreen Christmas Tree Farm will be open Nov. 24, 25 and 26, along with Dec. 2 and 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can choose or cut your tree.

Fabulous Firs Christmas Tree Farm at VanScott Farms LLC

VanScott Farms, LLC opened Nov. 18 for cut-your-own trees. They will be closed on Thanksgiving, but they will be open on Black Friday and weekends thereafter from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

FW Battenfeld & Son Wholesale Growers

Battenfeld's Christmas Tree Farm opened Nov. 20 this year. They will be closed on Thanksgiving and reopening on Nov. 24 until the middle of December from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cut-your-own Christmas trees will be available, along with wreaths and centerpieces.

Hahn Farm

Hahn Farm is open year-round on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, but when the holidays come around, they are open seven days a week. Starting the week of Thanksgiving, stop in any day from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for cut-your-own or pre-cut Christmas trees.
They are also a fully functioning farm, so visit the cows and pigs when you stop in for your tree. Also, do not forget to see their wreaths, along with their farm store with meats and some Christmas decorations. For more information, see their website.
Mike's Christmas Tree Farm

If you're planning on heading over to Mike's Christmas Tree Farm, you will want to get there soon. Over 70 trees had already been tagged the week before Thanksgiving. They are open every day from sunrise to sunset.
There will also be complimentary refreshments including cookies, hot chocolate served plain or with Baileys Irish Cream.
Murphy Crest Tree Farm

Murphy Crest Tree Farm will be open this winter from 9 a.m. until dark on Nov. 24, Dec. 2 and Dec. 9. If there is inclement weather on either of the Saturdays, they are going to try to be open the Sunday after. Pine View Farm

This year Plains View Farm will be open weekends starting Black Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and they are a cut-your-own tree farm. People-friendly and leashed dogs are allowed, but must be cleaned up after.

Primrose Hill Farm

Starting Black Friday, Primrose Hill Farm will be open every day from 9 a.m. until dark. They are offering pre-cut trees along with cut-your-own trees. They will be offering hot chocolate at the farm while you visit and have wreaths available for purchase.

Saltsman Christmas Tree Farm

Operating for over 30 years, Saltsman Christmas Tree Farm will be opening this holiday season on Black Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesdays and Fridays from 1-4 p.m. Last entry to the farm is 3:45 p.m., but make sure to call ahead. Once they sell out of a certain type of tree or all of their inventory, they will be closed for the season.

Solvang Christmas Tree Farm

Solvang Farm will be open starting Black Friday this holiday season. They will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and are offering cut-your-own trees along with New York state-grown, pre-cut trees.
As well, they make their own wreaths, candle centerpieces, kissing bells and roping on the farm, available for purchase. Do not forget to see their gift store and its selection of Christmas ornaments.
Stone Oak Farm LLC

Stone Oak Tree Farm will be open from Nov. 25 through Dec. 3. They will be open from 10 a.m. until dusk, and you can choose and cut your tree. If you cannot make it those weekends, appointments can be made over the phone or through email.

Wonderland Farm

For over 30 years, Wonderland Farm has been providing a cut-your-own tree service and opened early this year on Nov. 18. They will be open Black Friday from 10 a.m. to dusk and Nov. 25 and 26 from 9 a.m. until dusk. Every year they sell 300 trees and since COVID-19, they have been selling out Thanksgiving weekend.
