Saturday

Battle at the Beach in Ocean City

Toms River North 28, Washington Township 21: Nasir Jackson's interception with 55 seconds left preserved the Mariners' victory and Jeremiah Pruitt's pick six 30-yard interception return, which boosted North's lead to 28-14 in the third quarter, provided the winning points.

Micah Ford was involved in two touchdowns by Toms River North in the first half. Ford went in on a two-yard run to open the scoring and later connected with Tareq Council on a 38-yard touchdown pass. Toms River North is No. 2 in the Asbury Park Press Top 10

Red Bank Catholic 33, St. John Vianney 7: Sophomore quarterback Frankie Williams connected with senior wide receiver Robert Stolfa on a 74-yard touchdown pass to open the game and the Caseys went on to build a 33-0 halftime lead.

Friday

Manalapan 31, Freehold Township 7: Nick Heckel threw two TD passes and also scored on a one-yard run, Birnie Preston fell on a fumble in the end zone after a sack for a TD and Michael Calton kicked a 27-yard field goal on the last play of the first half as Manalapan, ranked No. 8 in the Asbury Park Press Preseason Top 10, defeated the Patriots in a nondivisional game.

Heckel's TD passes were 55 yards on a catch and run by Alex Dille and 17 yards on a screen pass to Anthony Macchio. Chase Enlow had a 2-yard TD run for Freehold Township in the second quarter.

Southern 28, West Windsor-Plainsboro 0

The Rams rushed for 400 yards, including an 84-yard touchdown run by quarterback Andy Falletta, in the non-conference victory. Falletta also tossed a 12-yard touchdown pass to senior Domenick Crisalli.

Manville 30, Keyport 20

Keyport fell despite rallying back with a long opening drive to start the second half with Naz Treadwell scoring on a short run to cut Manville's lead to 16-12.
