Shots fired into Glastonbury condo while residents slept, police say

Five shots were fired into a Glastonbury condo early Tuesday while its residents were sleeping, police said. No one was injured.

The gunfire on Cobb’s Mill Lane erupted shortly before 1 a.m., they said.

A preliminary investigation shows that a person standing on condominium complex grounds fired the shots, which struck one unit. The shooter then got into a car, which sped off, police said.

Police don’t have a vehicle description yet and hope that neighbors with surveillance cameras on Cobb’s Mill Lane and Griswold Street will review their footage.

Investigators are trying to figure out the shooter’s motive.

“We don’t have any reason to think this was a random event,” Lt. Corey Davis said. But police also don’t know why the people in that one unit were targeted.

Anyone with information that may help investigators is asked to call Det. David Hoover at 860-652-4284. Tips may be left on the website, www.glastonburyct.gov/police, police said.
