Shots-fired incident prompts investigation in New London

Police are investigating a shooting in New London on Thursday afternoon.

Officers responded to the area of Blackhall and Prest Streets just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday on the report of gunshots being fired, according to the New London Police Department.

Police said investigators found evidence of a shooting, but no one reported any injuries.

The police department’s Investigative Services Division responded to canvass the area and collect evidence, according to police. A vehicle believed to be involved was recovered during the investigation.

Police said the shooting does not appear to be a random act.
