Apr. 5—HIGH POINT — Police are investigating shots fired at a man outside a business in a parking lot.
On Friday at 12:45 p.m., High Point Police Department officers went to the 1800 block of Wade Place after a witness reported shots being fired. Officers saw a man running across Brentwood Street.
When officers caught up to the man, they determined he was the shooting's intended target.
Two vehicles in the business's parking lot, including one belonging to the man, were damaged by gunfire.
No one was struck or injured in the gunfire, police Lt. Matt Truitt told The High Point Enterprise.
Officers arrested Tyzid B. Williams, 28, of High Point, who was found walking near Leonard Avenue shortly after the shooting. During the arrest, officers discovered that Williams was in possession of two firearms, one of which matched the 9mm casings found at the shooting scene, according to police.
Williams was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and two counts of felony carrying a concealed gun. He was confined to the Guilford County Jail in High Point with bond set at $2,020,000 secured.
