The Showboat has a new waterpark. Here's what you need to know
Looking for a tropical island escape without having to leave South Jersey? Look no further.
On July 7, Atlantic City will be home to the world's largest beachfront indoor waterpark, according to Showboat Hotel owner and Tower Investments CEO Bart Blatstein.
Before you dip your toe into Blatstein's record-breaking attraction, here's what you need to know about the Island Waterpark at the Showboat.
Island Waterpark facts and figures
There's a lot of fun packed into this 120,000-square-foot oasis, including 11 waterslides, six bars, and a 6,500 square foot lazy river.
Guests can zoom down the Electric Eel, Sonic Serpent and Barracuda Blaster tube slides, or go head-first on three Tidal Racers mat racer slides. Five other waterslides are designed for younger visitors at the park's Slide Island.

Other attractions include a 1,000-square-foot surf simulator, the Wild Wave FlowRider. You'll also find interactive water activities like shower fountains and blasters and an adventure pool for splash-worthy sports.
Fun fact: The Island Waterpark holds more than 317,000 gallons of water.

For an extra fee, Paradise Adult Island offer an adult-only Bliss Pool and three different bars, including Atlantic City's only swim-up bar.
This section also has Peloton bikes, manicure and work stations, chair massages and VIP cabanas.
Is there an arcade at Island Waterpark?
Showboat Hotel houses the largest arcade in the world, so of course they had to make an appearance in the park.
Not only is the queue into the Island lined with shore-town styled classics, but the park has its own boardwalk and arcade on the inside. Now, no matter what the weather, guests can walk the boards and enjoy classic games, treats and souvenirs.

In the arcade leading to the park, guests can find all sorts of nautical details paying homage to the Garden State, including a gallery of surfboards painted with town names descending from the ceiling.

The park's interior also boasts large quantities of live greenery, and the arched glass windows and ceilings open up to let in fresh air on sunny days and get rid of the typical stuffy, chlorine smell waterparks emit.
How much does the Island Waterpark cost?
Prices start at $89 for general access from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. day, and at $69 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Additional add-ons are available − the all-access VIP package, starting at $119, offers entry to Paradise Adult Island, for instance.
Hotel guests have exclusive access to the park one hour before it opens to the public. There's no charge for children under 3, and a $10 discount for military personnel and Atlantic City's first responders.
