Showdown at Boomtown: Bossier police surround man barricaded in casino hotel room

UPDATE: 4:22 p.m. suspect has been detained.

Sgt. BJ Sanford said, "the suspect was taken into custody by our SOS team with no causalities or injuries."

Sanford said there was a brief struggle but no injuries occurred.

Upon entry into the room officers located multiple weapons.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital.

Bossier City Police Department received a call a little before 2:30 p.m. Thursday about a man who was inside one of the rooms, and was refusing to leave.

There are currently three armored vehicles and over a dozen BCPD units.

BCPD said the individual made no threats but will not leave the hotel room.

Currently the casino is still open and operating.
