Jan. 4—A new Showtime comedy series starring Emma Stone has completed filming in and around Santa Fe, the State Film Office reported.

The Curse, originally announced in mid-2020 and picked up by Showtime in December of that year, had been filming in the Santa Fe and Española since June.

The show explores how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring on their problematic new HGTV show, according to promotional materials.

Stone stars alongside Corbin Bernsen, Nathan Fielder and Barkhad Abdi. Brothers Josh and Benny Safdie co-executive produce. Benny Safdie co-created the show with Fielder. A24 is the production company.

"They were here at least six or seven months," said Jennifer LaBar-Tapia, director of the Santa Fe Film Office.

Pre-production in Santa Fe started in March with filming taking place from June to the end of September, early October, she said.

Among the Santa Fe locations that will appear in The Curse are the Dragon Room bar downtown, plus a Chevron station and Zia Credit Union, both on St. Francis Drive, she said.

Showtime has not announced an air date.
