Showtime! TCC men's basketball game to be streamed on ESPN+ Monday
The Tallahassee Community College men’s basketball game against Daytona State College on Monday was selected as the NJCAA ESPN+ Game of the Week, and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The game was originally scheduled to start at 2 p.m. but will now tip off at 6.
“This is an incredible opportunity for our men’s basketball team and our college,” said Director of Athletics Chuck Moore.
“Coach (Rick) Cabrera, his staff, and the players have worked incredibly hard this year and are deserving of this national exposure. While many people will be excited to view our game on ESPN+, we want our fans to fill the stands of the Eagledome to show support for our team.”
TCC is offering free admission to the first 100 fans that claim tickets online. Up to four tickets can be claimed in one order.
Once the 100 tickets are claimed, general admission tickets can still be purchased online or at the gate for $5. TCC students, faculty, and staff get in free with their TCC ID.
“Daytona State is a really talented team and it will be a good test for our guys towards the end of our non-conference schedule,” Cabrera said. “While it’s exciting for our program to be selected as the Game of the Week, it’s important that we, as a team, treat this like any other game on the schedule.”
Daytona State (12-0) was ranked second in the most recent NJCAA Region 8 Coaches’ Poll and Tallahassee (12-1) was ranked third. In the NJCAA DI Rankings, Tallahassee ranks seventh while Daytona State is currently 11th.
This will be the highest-ranked opponent for both teams when they enter the Bill Hebrock Eagledome on Monday evening.
The Eagles are on the road Friday at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa and begin a stretch of four games in five days before the Christmas holiday.
