Shreveport Little Theatre is spreading holiday joy with White Christmas The Musical

Shreveport Little Theatre and Academy will continue its Centennial Season Celebration with Irving Berlin's White Christmas The Musical showing Dec. 9 - 12 and Dec. 15 - 19.

“In SLT’s 100 years of producing live theatre, our production of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas represents the largest investment ever made in a single production. This musical, with its beautiful costuming, is SLT’s holiday gift to our community,” according to SLT’s managing and artistic director, Dr. Robert Darrow.

The musical is based on the film of the same name that follows the successful song-and-dance team as they become romantically involved with a sister act who joins forces to save the failing Vermont inn of their former commanding general. The musical is full of fun songs, dances, romance and comedy, with a heartwarming message about love and loyalty.

Director Rich Hansil says, “The film is one of my favorites, with its combination of star power, beautiful technicolor, and stellar song and dance numbers, but seeing it live on the stage brings a special kind of magic. I’m so excited for audiences to hear the songs that musical director Adam Philley has brought to life with our cast and see the dance numbers that choreographer Laura Beeman Nugent has cooked up."
