Shrewsbury police searching for owner of dog found tied to bench

Shrewsbury Police are searching for the owner of a dog who was found tied to a bench.

According to Shrewsbury Police, a dog was found in the area of 1000 Boston Turnpike near the Christmas Tree Shops on March 12.

The dog was tied by his leash to a bench and his owner was reportedly seen leaving the area in a taxi cab. Police say the dog is neutered and was wearing a black collar with a chain leash but had no microchip.

The dog is being held at the Worcester Animal Rescue League and is not available for adoption at this time.
