Series recap: A promising start but a disappointing finish for the Jumbo Shrimp last week in Charlotte, where they won the first three games before dropping the last three. Jacksonville let three leads slip away in Sunday's 9-8 walk-off loss. Peyton Burdick leads the International League with seven homers, but the team ERA stands at 5.61.

Highlight: The minor league baseball world is finding out fast about Burdick's power. In Wednesday's 3-1 win, the outfielder slugged a second-inning homer that left the bat at 116.2 miles per hour, the second-hardest hit in the minors this season.

Crustacean sensation: Outfielder Jake Mangum continues to hit and hit for the Jumbo Shrimp, boosting his batting average to .412. The 27-year-old, from Mississippi State, was acquired from the Mets organization in December.

On deck: The Sounds, Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, will be bringing the Brewers' second-ranked prospect to Jacksonville in outfielder Sal Frelick. The 2021 first-rounder batted .331 last year but is off to a slower start this spring. Also coming back are a couple of familiar former Jumbo Shrimp in Olympic infielder Eddy Alvarez and outfielder Monte Harrison, as well as former Arlington Country Day School catcher Brian Navarreto.

Ballpark fun: Amid Thirsty Thursday, Friday Fireworks and Sunday's Youth Sports Day, the week also includes Swedish Furniture Night on Friday, when fans will have an in-game contest to assemble furniture the fastest. The ballpark will also (almost) observe National Haiku Day during Tuesday's series opener, although…

Actually, Monday

Is National Haiku Day.

Rats! Just missed by one.

Probable pitchers Tuesday: Jacksonville's Chi Chi Gonzalez (1-1, 7.47 ERA) vs. Adrian Houser (0-0, rehab assignment from Brewers).
