Series recap: The Jumbo Shrimp fought back over the weekend to take two of five from their opening home series against the Durham Bulls, after dropping the first three games. That returns Jacksonville to .500 (4-4) for the year.

Highlight: Jacksonville's home fans got their first walk-off win of the season on Friday night, when C.J. Hinojosa's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth scored Jake Mangum with the winning run.

Crustacean sensation: Hinojosa, a 28-year-old veteran infielder acquired through free agency in December, is off to a red-hot start. He ranks near the top of the Triple-A International League in batting average (.429, fourth), RBI (nine, sixth) and OPS (1.340, third). Also of note: outfielder Peyton Burdick is tied for the league lead with four home runs.

On deck: The Knights, affiliated with the Chicago White Sox, ranked near the rear of the league last year but have shown some promise early in 2023 with a 5-4 record. Among Charlotte's players to watch will be former University of North Florida pitcher Franklin German, who got a brief taste of the major leagues late last season. Veteran MLB outfielders Billy Hamilton and Jake Marisnick are also on the roster.

Probable pitchers Tuesday: To be determined.
