A parade will be a public highlight when the Shriners come to Wichita Falls in June.

The Texas Shrine Association will come to Wichita Falls in early June to celebrate 150 years of Shriners International and 100 years of Shriners Hospitals for Children.

The highlight for local residents will be 10 a.m. June 11, as Shriners parade downtown with all the clowns, bands, vehicles, mounted units  and marching units typically associated with the organization.

Over 500 Shriners and their families will be in Wichita Falls for the 88th Annual Convention of the Texas Shrine Association Ceremonial and All-State Competitions June 9-11. The unit competitions and market place of vendors will be open to the public at MPEC.

Shriners Hospitals for Children® were founded in 1922 with the goal of providing medical care for children without financial burdens on their families. More than 1.4 million children have been treated.
