Shriners hosting free medical screening clinic for kids on Saturday

The Hadi Shriners will be hosting a free screening clinic for children Saturday.

The screenings will take place at the Hadi Shrine Temple at 6 Walnut St. from 9 a.m. to noon for children up to age 18.

According to a news release, doctors will be looking at bone, muscle and joint problems, burn scars, and cleft lip and palate.

Appointments are not needed and walk-ups are encouraged and welcome.

After being screened, if seen as necessary, the doctor will refer patients and families to the Shriners Hospital for Children with transportation provided at no cost.

The Shriners Hospital for Children, located in St. Louis, is known for its mission to provide children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate issues with care regardless of ability to pay.

In addition to providing care, they are leaders in providing education to physicians and health professionals and conducting research.
