‘Siesta Key’ star Kelsey Owens blindsided by ‘abrupt’ firing from MTV show: ‘Truly disgusting’

It’s a not-so sunny reality.

“Siesta Key” star Kelsey Owens took to Instagram Friday, claiming she was blindsided by her “abrupt” and “disrespectful” firing from the MTV show.

“Last night I was walking into scene at a freaking strip club of all places and was informed that I will be cut moving forward on Siesta Key with absolutely no warning,” Owens, 25, captioned a runway photo.

“It’s mind blowing & truly disgusting that after working on a show since I was 19 years old where I’ve shared things about my personal life I wasn’t always comfortable with, revolved my whole life around, and put so much effort into could come to an end in such a disrespectful manner and so abrupt,” she continued.

Though she remains “so grateful for the friends I’ve made, once in a lifetime opportunities, and most of all the fans” afforded to her by the show, which debuted in 2017, Owens said those who fired her didn’t thank her “for sharing the past 5 years of our life with us.”

Owens thanked her fans and followers for the “kind words and support” that she says “helped me get through some of my toughest times.

“I couldn’t have made it these past 5 years without y’all so thank you for that. I am truly a better person because of y’all,” she said. “My time on the show may have come to an end but this is just the beginning for me.”

Owens starred on the 4-season show — centered on the love and drama-fueled summers of young adults in Siesta Key, about 6 miles off the coast of Sarasota — since its 2017 debut.
