Sievierodonetsk: Russian occupying forces stand on two thirds of perimeter, but the city isn't surrounded - the Head of City Administration

Oleksandr Striuk, the head of the City Civil–Military Administration of Sievierodonetsk, said that the city is currently under fierce defence. Russian occupying forces are located on almost two thirds of the city's perimeter, but the city is not surrounded.

Quote from Striuk: "The situation is unchanged overnight, the city is being held (by defenders - ed.), almost two thirds of the city's perimeter is occupied by the enemy, the city is under fierce defence."

Details: The head of the City Civil–Military Administration added that the occupiers have been trying to capture the city for 1.5 weeks, but "thanks to the superhuman efforts of Ukrainian soldiers, the city is being held [under Ukrainian control]."

According to Striuk, for the last two days the city has been on fire from constant shelling; there are victims among the civilian population and among the employees of Azot chemical plant.

He also added that on visual assessment 90% of residential buildings are damaged, and 60% will have to be rebuilt.
