- A much anticipated park name change is going to have to wait a little bit longer. Denver Parks and Rec employees put up the sign to La Raza Park today. About as fast as they put it up, they had to take it down. Park was renamed from Columbus Park to La Raza, which is what locals have called it for generations.

It essentially means, "the people". Celebrates Hispanic, Chicano, and indigenous Denverites who have called that park their home for decades. It's located at 38th Avenue and Navajo Street in Denver. City says it wants to celebrate the name change with the ceremony before they put up that new sign.
