Signing day November 2021: Where will Shreveport-Bossier area athletes play sports

Holden Webb of Loyola signed with LSU golf on Wednesday to highlight a solid selection of Shreveport-Bossier area athletes on the first day of the fall signing period, excluding footba.

Airline’s Jina Baffuto and Paris Endris signed with Louisiana Tech softball, while Haughton’s Roman Tolbert and Airline’s Carson Carey are headed to Northwestern State to play baseball. Captain Shreve basketball’s Zoe Manning, a standout on last season’s Class 5A state championship team, signed with SMU.

Baffuto said she was offered last week by the Lady Techsters and agreed immediately.

“I’ve wanted to play there since I was young,” Baffuto said. “It helps that Paris will be over there, so it should be an easy transition.”

Haughton softball’s Brooklyn Bockhaus signed with South Alabama and Many's Camryn Ford, who keyed the Lady Tigers’ run to the Class 2A title, is headed to NSU.

Holden, whose home course in East Ridge Country Club, said he had been attending LSU games since he was young and decided in the spring it was the place for him.

“I was fortunate enough for coach (Chuck) Winstead to take an interest in me early on and offer me a scholarship,” Holden said. “I am extremely excited for the opportunity to be able to represent LSU men’s golf.”

Holden was district and regional champion last spring with scores of 65 and 69, while finishing tied for third in the Louisiana Junior Amateur.
