Silver Dollar City's Fire In The Hole to host final ride. Here's how to get on board
In less than a month, Red Flanders will call out for his lost pants one last time.
Silver Dollar City's beloved Fire in the Hole will host its last ride at 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30.
To honor the end of an era, Silver Dollar City is hosting several giveaways for seats on the train's final ride. These giveaways are being hosted on the amusement park's Facebook and Instagram. Social media users are encouraged to leave comments on posts that read "Fire in the Hole Final Ride Giveaway." The comments with the most "likes" will receive four seats on the final ride, with 12 seats to be distributed overall. Winners will be announced at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16. A similar giveaway will be launched on the Silver Dollar City TikTok, too.
In total, Fire In The Hole features four trains, each carrying 12 riders, making 48 seats available. Silver Dollar City communications manager Dalton Fischer said the remaining seats not distributed through the social media giveaways will be given to randomly selected guests visiting the park on Dec. 30.
New Fire In The Hole ride to open in spring 2024
But it may not be over for Red Flanders and his missing pants.
In August, Silver Dollar City announced the opening of a new Fire In The Hole ride. The new ride, which will be the park's largest indoor roller coaster, is expected to open in spring 2024.

The new Fire In The Hole will be about one-third of a mile in length at 1,512 feet, about the same length as the original. The ride will be housed in a five-story climate-controlled building, featuring three water-splashing drops and 14 show scenes.
Fans of the Fire In The Hole soundtrack shouldn't fret, as the second-generation ride will feature the same song revamped by bluegrass Grammy-nominated artists Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent, the duo known as Dailey & Vincent.
The opening of the new Fire In The Hole will coincide with the unveiling of The Fire District, a new area in the amusement park that will feature a new store, Flander's Dry Goods, and a new pretzel dog dining area.
