The ubiquitous Silverstar Car Wash brand has been acquired by a car wash holdings company in a mutually-beneficial growth opportunity.

Silverstar’s owners made “a significant equity investment” in Mammoth Holdings LLC and has agreed to join the Atlanta-based car wash group, according to a Tuesday news release.

According to the release, Mammoth's group has significant capital for growth, actively seeking acquisitions and development opportunities and offers itself as a "tax-deferred equity investment opportunity."

Whether this changes any development plans has not been stated, but Silverstar Car Wash will keep its name and operate as its own brand.

“The Silverstar team... have quickly built an impressive footprint in the Sioux Falls and Sioux City markets," Dave Hoffman, CEO of Mammoth Holdings, said. "Silverstar has taken a unique approach to development that we will continue to leverage across our operator-led platform, in addition to learning from their best-in-class operations."

Mammoth is the 6th-largest conveyor car wash operator in the U.S., according to Commercial Plus's Top 100 list. It has several car wash brands in its portfolio with financing by Morgan Stanley, private equity and the Pritzker Organization.

"It was very important to pick a partner who shared our values... we immediately knew these were the people we wanted to grow our business with,” Bryan Slama, Silverstar's founder, said. "Mammoth puts people first, and we are excited to be able to provide our employees an opportunity to grow their careers within a larger organization.”

Mammoth's portfolio includes Marc-1, Wash Me Fast, Swifty, Ultra, Finish Line, Wiggy Wash, Shine On, Pit Stop, Lulu's, Ollie's, PureMagic, Busy Bee and now Silverstar.

Silverstar Car Wash currently operates locations in Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota, including nearly a dozen in Sioux Falls.

Local spokespeople in Sioux Falls were not available for comment at the time of publication.
